With a rich history of civic engagement, Dr. Mickens Ross has served on numerous boards, including Girls Incorporated of Metropolitan Dallas, the American Heart Association, the Women's Council of Dallas, Texas, and the Dallas County Historical Commission. Notably, she was appointed to the Small Face Insurance Advisory Committee for the State of Texas.
Dr. Mickens Ross's commitment to the arts is evident through her founding chairmanship of the City of DeSoto Arts Commission.
Her leadership and community impact have been recognized with many prestigious awards, such as the Women Helping Women Maura Award from the Texas Women's Foundation, the Women of the Year award from the City of DeSoto Chamber, Leadership Dallas Alumni Outstanding Service of a Class Representative award in 2018 and the Outstanding Texan Award in 2015. She is also a Leadership Texas graduate of 2011 and a Leadership Dallas graduate of 1999.
Cynthia is married to David E. Ross III, the love of her life. She is a devoted mother to (Mrs.) Sherrell Warren and a loving grandmother to Kennedy, Regan, and Jason Warren.

As an accomplished author, Dr. Mickens Ross penned the Path~Way to Purpose® Stories of Victory book, showcasing the inspiring narratives of graduates from her Path~Way to Purpose® course.
Beyond her pastoral and literary pursuits, she has dedicated countless hours to community service, championing causes for women, children, and the elderly.
Dr. Mickens Ross is not only a spiritual leader but also holds prominent positions in various organizations. She serves as the President of the International Women's Forum, Dallas Chapter, and sits on the Frost Bank Community Advisory board. Additionally, she is a board member of the Genesis Women's Shelter, a past chair of the Best Southwest Partnership, and a past president of the Fellowship of Professional Women. Her involvement extends to leadership roles in organizations such as the Christian Women in Media Association (CWIMA) and the Children's Medical Center Health and Wellness Alliance.
